
(HENDERSONVILLE, NC - US) GOP candidate Mark Meadows surged to the front of the field this weekend, handily winning the straw poll at the Buncombe County GOP 11th District Congressional Forum at AB Tech.
The forum and straw poll were sponsored by the Buncombe County Republican Party, the Blue Ridge Republican Women and the Buncombe County Republican Women’s Club, in conjunction with the John Locke Foundation.
When the votes were counted, Meadows had more votes than almost all the other candidates combined.

Meadows also recently won back-to back straw polls in Transylvania and Swain Counties. He has also picked up some major endorsements from 2010 GOP nominee Jeff Miller and the Family Research Council’s Action PAC and is supported by numerous County Sheriffs and other elected officials throughout North Carolina.
Meadows is a conservative, Christian businessman, who has spent his career creating new jobs. He is a fiscal and social conservative who has served on numerous boards and was recently appointed to the State Board for Economic Development in Western North Carolina, because of his expertise in business and creating jobs.
